Guppy Simulation

1) To attract mates.

2) Guppy or Millions fish
scientific name: Poecilia Reticulate
from Brazil
size: 1.9"
metallic silver in color, blackish blue tail and fins

3) Tigerfish
scientific name: Hoplias Malabrsacus
up to 24"
from Trinidad
sandy brown in color

4) The size of the body of water and the size of the predator fish.

5) John Endler is a biologist that studied guppies in Trinidad.

6) Pool1: Very bright with large spots
Pool2: Medium coloration with medium spots
Pool3: Very drab in color

7) Higher in the stream there are few predators so that they are able to be colorful and the lower you get the drabber you get.

8) They eat the easiest to see fish and so the fish become drabber to survive.

9) 1:My hypothesis was correct, less predators=brighter colors.
2: No, my hypothesis was wring because the brighter guppies survived.
3: My hyppothesis was correct because the drabbest survived and the brightest died out.
4: My hypothesis was correct there were few predators and the brightest survived.
5: My hypothesis was correct, with lots of predators, only the drabbest guppies survived.

10) The males are conspicuous to predators and easier to spot by everyone.

11) There are fewer predators higher in the stream allowing the males to be brighter in coloration.

12) They would die out because the brighter guppies get mates.

13) They would die because the predators can see him better.
