The giant tortoise can live up to 175 years.
The giant tortoise can go a year without food.
A giant tortoise sleeps up to 16 hrs. a day.
The Galapagos Islands are special because of where they are and what lives there. They are in the middle of the colliding warm and cold water currents. They are home to marine iguanas, the only sea species of iguana in the world. The waved albatross needs the Galapagos Islands to have a place to breed.Sea lions also migrated there. This is the home to penguins.
